LOCKE DRIVES IN WINNING RUN AS TIDE SOFTBALL BEATS HAWAII 1-0 IN EXTRA INNINGS

Amanda Locke drove in the winning run with an RBI singled that scored Kelley Montalvo from second base in the bottom of the 8th inning as the Alabama softball team defeated Hawaii last saturday night to run its record to 12-1 on the season. The tide won the game despite only managing four hits in the contest as Charlotte Morgan threw the first seven innings before being relieved by Kelsi Dunne in the 8th.

NOTE* It is an NCAA rule for regular season games that go extra innings that the hitting team starts the inning with their next hitter in the lineup being placed on second base.

The tide will next travel to Columbus GA to participate in the Leadoff Classic starting on friday FEB.27TH where they will face Southern ILLINOIS in the opening round of the tournament.
